It is a pleasant place to live.
+ Larger public schools great university.
There are many outdoor activities such as hiking, canoeing, skiing, skating, etc. ..
There are many shops, but there are quality stores, like Whole Foods and Banana Republic. (Especially in the area of the Barracks Road)
We had only one goal, just north of the city!
Much more socially open and then the rest of the region. In addition, most people are well trained.
The most fun things to do in the downtown mall area. There are art galleries, eating places, and concert halls.
Residents Places to go:
Christian Pizza (Downtown)
Splendora's Gelato (Downtown)
Dumplings (Downtown, near the cinemas)
Twisted Branch (downtown really cool teahouse Middle East)
Bodo Bagels (University Hall)
Mellow Mushroom (Pizza on the corner)
Star Hill (restaurant and concert hall ... highly recommended!)
Paramount (new drama ... lots of good deeds)
Fartsy physical activities, the city is very artistic and outdoors.
Do most things that are either outside or live entertainment and art.
*** If you really want a taste of the city, read a free newspaper called "C-Town".

Campus, more "LA" in the area. Great scenery, decent restraunts, a good concert hall for the region.
Wonderful place! I returned from a visit to the region on Sunday. University community in the historic downtown Monticello, Ashlawn .... near Shenandoah Mountains - Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive This is a very nice, beautiful place. I always loved visiting the region.
